I am a full-time Kansas City... well, Overland Park, based photographer & videographer.
I've been filming weddings for almost 10 years now and have been doing photography on the side for about the same time.
When it comes to photography, I'm all about capturing the real, authentic moments so I steer clear of stale posing and take on a more photo-journalist style. I love shooting weddings, friends and people, especially on their happiest days. While I have some college training in photography, I mainly rely on experience. From my awesome clients that have taken me to Hawaii and the Bahamas to all the folks in Kansas City that have gotten married in churches big and small as well as golf courses and backyards. I've learned to shoot in practically any enviroment. I also attend workshops, participate in forums and constantly find ways to grow as a photographer.
I started doing video production on staff at a church where I could try anything I wanted to and test it out on the congregation week after week. That led me to learning what works and what doesn't. It helps that I love movies and their soundtracks and how they move me. I have filmed for country stars, brides & grooms, attorneys and everyone in between. I currently love creating videos that move people to make a change in themselves or in the world.
I'm a huge fan of LOST, The Big Bang Theory and anything on the Discovery Channel. I'm heavily involved with Heartland Community Church and the Gathering Network there both in the Technical and Children's ministries. On any given day you might run into me at the gym or my favorite place: Whole Foods - I've discovered that eating right and working out give me much more energy than coffee & chocolate, although I love them too.
I truly believe that while you have to like my work, you also have to have a connection with me. I'd love to sit down over coffee or icecream with you and talk about how I can capture your wedding day or help your company or ministry with photography or video.
