I met Emilee + Dan at the Gathering. They are one of the most fun couples I've had the pleasure of photographing. Dan's facial expressions are hilarious and Emilee follows quickly behind his goofiness. (I looked up how to spell that, it's right, trust me.)

I loved Emilee's friends and their expressions in the photos as they watched and helped her get ready that morning.

Their wedding was at Emmanuel Baptist Church where Dan's dad is actually the pastor. He officiated the ceremony which I loved because him and Dan shared several glances and moments as it went on.

I think I was in a black and white mood for this wedding - Here are a few more for you:
We were done by early in the afternoon and decided to go shoot some pics on the plaza. It was freezing that day - but a speical thanks goes to the Cheesecake Factory for letting us use their elevator waiting room which was quite toasty.

So, this last minute, like a week away, but I'm teaching a class next Tuesday night at Digital Labrador.
It's one of my favorite places because I rent lenses and fun gear from them all the time for all my weddings. I've even covered the shop for them a few weekends while they've gone to Mexico or the Flint Hills for one of their awesome photo workshops.
So Brud, one of the awesome guys up there approached me one day and said "what do you know about shooting video with a Digital SLR camera?" Well gang, quite a bit.
I actually used the Canon 5D Mark II shortly after it came out to film for a Food for the Hungry video early in the year, did another marketing piece with it, and I recently bought a Canon 7D for all my corporate marketing and wedding videos next year.
So - are you a photographer or videographer wanting to know the basics of shooting video with one of the coolest things in the video world right now?
Swing by the Digital Labrador site and check it out under the "Learn" tab.
There's some exciting new things happening in the photo/video world with these cameras - come learn about shooting video, composition, creative shots, dealing with audio and later editing - I look forward to meeting you!

So today I'm being rather productive and just wrapped up two wedding videos. I was about to ship them out when I thought I'd take a second to show you some custom cases that I use.

My friend Matt McNary over at Hammer Press made them for me from a design idea I got from Sara Swenson's CD cases. I added my own verbiage to them as well as the logo that Matt designed for me a couple months ago.
I wrap each case in a ribbon the same color as your flowers or dresses from your wedding day.

Contact me soon about your wedding for next year and be sure to tell me about your wedding colors! [Dates are already filling up]
Heather Haldey:
Pete and Leah got the DVD's,and I was lucky enough to happen to be at their house when they arrived. The cases are gorgeous! Leah and I had a good cry while watching the DVD, we also had a good laugh at the end when my 5 year old son did the robot!

Now that photos are officially in Beth's hands, I can share with the rest of you some of my favorites from their incredible day!
These two are awesome. They are my friends and an inspiration to me for what I want in my life someday. From the beginning I could see Ryan's sense of protection of Beth, how he cares for her, and makes her laugh. Beth is amazing. She has an infectious smile and lights up the room with her energy. She has an unbelievable singing voice too, which she surprised Ryan and everyone else with at the reception by singing a song she had written which was absolutely hilarious.
It was an honor to capture their day. I had my trusted friend Jenaé along to help me cover everything during the gorgeous day in the rose garden at Loose Park.
My favorite moments were from Beth getting ready. Watching the closeness of her sisters and her mom and capturing those moments in photos made my day.
Jenaé caught the great shot of Beth's blue shoes as she stood next to her dad before walking down the aisle, as well as the awesome perspective through the fountain during the ceremony. She later caught the bridesmaids helping Beth with her dress. She also came and set up her FotoBooth where guests could do anything crazy and fun including wearing some ridiculous props.
There's too many to post, but here are just a few of my favorites. Stay tuned for their video in a couple months too!
